John is a founding partner of Harkness Capital and a member of the Investment Committee. He is currently the Chairman of Thomson Equity Partners, LLC a New York based private investment firm and a partner in GL Ohrstrom & Co. From 1984 – 2011, John was a co-founder of Norwest Equity Partners of Minneapolis and New York (NEP). During his tenure, NEP completed six private equity partnerships and three mezzanine partnerships. Investments included a broad range of lower middle market companies, including logistics, manufacturing, distribution, specialty rental, outsourced services, agriculture services and communication services. He is a graduate of the University of South Dakota with a BS in Management and an MBA.
