New York, NY, February 10, 2025 – Harkness Capital Partners (“Harkness” or “HCP”), a private equity firm focused on investments in leading service-oriented companies, announced that Capital Pump & Equipment (“CPE”), a leading pump rental platform based in Chandler, AZ and HCP platform investment, has transitioned Lee Ramer from Chief Operating Officer (“COO”) to the role of Chief Executive Officer (“CEO”) of CPE, effective January 1, 2025. This planned leadership transition marks an important milestone for CPE’s future as Lee takes the helm while Tom Henderson will continue as a Board member and a significant investor in the Company. Harkness acquired a majority ownership stake in CPE in August, 2022.
Mr. Henderson and the Board are confident in Lee’s ability to lead the Company through its next phase of rapid growth. Since joining CPE as COO in May 2024, Lee has made an immediate and meaningful impact by focusing on growth, teamwork, and delivering exceptional customer service. He brings over 20 years of direct operational, sales, and leadership experience to the CEO role, including 15 years in senior regional leadership positions with United Rentals Fluid Solutions and National Pump & Compressor. During his tenure, Lee successfully led large regional operations, built branch teams, and developed strategies to meet the complex demands of customers across a wide range of industries. He also has 5 years of rental experience with Godwin Pumps of America, where he gained invaluable firsthand knowledge of the specialty pump market, and 15 years as a licensed contractor specializing in site development, underground utilities, and road building, further enriching his practical understanding of customer needs and technical challenges.
As CEO, Lee will build on the strong foundation established by Tom. He will continue to lead with a hands-on approach, working closely with CPE’s outstanding team to deliver innovative, reliable, and timely solutions for our customers. Lee brings a unique balance of technical expertise, industry knowledge, and passion for both people and customers, making him ideally suited to drive the next phase of CPE growth.
